Enjoying the Relatives

freepik4We often have friends ask us to pray for them before they celebrate holidays with relatives. For many, holidays are stressful times when family tensions flare up and loved ones misunderstand and lash out at one another. Even worse, Christians who want so badly to be good examples are often drawn into patterns of ungodly behavior and leave the family gathering ashamed and feeling like any future opportunity to witness to loved ones has been ruined.

So what DOES make holiday times and family gatherings so stressful?

Therapists, hospitals, and police forces brace themselves during the holidays because there are more fights, more domestic violence, more suicides, more addictive behaviors, more hospital admissions, and more general unhappiness during holidays than at any other times of the year. Mental health workers estimate up to 10% of the population suffers from holiday depression to some degree. Why is that?

Holidays and family gatherings are meant to be times of happiness and joy, yet for almost all of us they are also tinged with frustration and depression.

It doesn’t have to be that way.  We’ve prepared an guide to enjoying the relatives during the holidays and we want you to have it for free as our Christmas gift to you. You can download it by clicking on the link below.

We are grateful for each and every one of you and hope you have the happiest, merriest Christmas ever.
